My friend's rat died. I just finished stuffing it for him. It's the biggest thing I've done yet, and it turned out pretty good! Check him out in the taxidermy photo album.... I even included his cancer bulge on his side. I want to do more rats... I did this rat head on a board -- Posted this in the photo album too! -- about a year ago. Thanks to Jeannie's stuffing class at Paxton Gate (shit, i went to that YEARS ago!!! When Paxton gate was still on Stevenson Street) I know how to do this. Have a great two headed mouse i did too, but can't seem to get a good photo of it, doesn't do it justice. I like the freak show oddity angle. Gonna work on more of those.

Re: RATSO!
Wed, December 1, 2004 - 9:02 AMThis year (2004) I taught 3 or 4 classes at Paxton Gate (of how to taxidermy a mouse) - and they all sold out! I may teach a couple next year, and I'll post it so you all know...
I was thinking of seeing how many might want to see a demo after the first of the year. I might be willing to teach a small group with the proper bribery.
Cheers!

it'd be fun to do with someone who's excited by this. my roommate came home last time i was doing one and it freaked him out a little. haha.

hey, have you been to that store in Los Angeles... shit, I can't remember the name. have a lot of taxidermy, bones, etc... i think it's on melrose maybe? but i was there a couple weeks ago and they had your angel mice. they also had a few other mice, that didn't look so hot, pretty shabby...
one of my new year's resolutions is to start making rats. gotta get motivated. -

Mon, December 20, 2004 - 2:21 PMThat shop is Necromance on Melrose. I still sell alot of mice to her, but she also gets some freezdried mice, so don't know which you saw (hopefully the shabby ones weren't mine!).
More dead animals in 2005!
